Florida fashion trends

Colors, patterns and vibrant style are always trending in Florida. Whether you are visiting during the blistering hot summer months or slightly less blistering hot fall and winter, you’ll want to pack clothes that help you feel and look your best.

Florida style is bright colors and patterns but with long hot days spent at the theme parks or sightseeing, make sure you keep yourself protected from the hot sun with lots of light, cool layers.

Florida fashion. Woman in front of tropical plants wearing a Hawaiian shirt and orange pants.

Who says Hawaiian shirts are just for dads on vacation? Tropical prints always look good in Florida. Pair a Hawaiian print shirt with bright leggings to keep things fun.

  • Leggings: Fabletics
  • Tank: Fabletics
  • Sandals: Birkenstocks. I like these ones because they are waterproof!
  • Hawaiian top: Vintage (similar one here)

Florida is a tropical climate which means most days it’s bright, sunny and humid but a rainstorm appear out of nowhere and soak you to the absolute bone in about two minutes or less. The most powerful rainstorms I’ve ever seen were in Florida (and I live near Seattle so that says a lot).

The good thing about freak Florida rainstorms is that they usually stop in about 10 minutes and the sun will come out to dry things off again.

A jersey dress is a must-pack items that you can slip on for a trip to the beach and also wear out to dinner. You can dress it up or down with different accessory or swap flip flops for heels for a night out.

  • Dress: Thrifted (shop similar here)
  • Sandals: Birkenstocks
  • Watch: Fit Bit

What to wear in Central Florida

If you’re hitting the theme parks or any of the major attractions in central Florida, the days can be very hot but the morning and evenings will be a lot cooler, especially in the evenings.

Don’t forget to dress in layers and bring a light sweater along for after the sun goes down.
