When you are out camping, hiking, and backpacking you have a lot of things on your plate. Sadly, gourmet food is usually not one of them. It can be down right impossible to pack enough food and gear to make delicious and varied meals, right? Wrong! With the right know-how you can make amazing food without a lot of gear or ingredients.

Top Camp Cooking Tips

A camping stove is key: A quality camping stove is going to give you the ability to cook up all sorts of yummy food. Make sure you choose a good one like this highly rated one and learn how to use it before you head into the outdoors!

Prep before you go:  Make your life easier once you are at the campsite by doing some of the work ahead of time. Chop vegetables, pre-cut meat for kabobs, make your marinades and sauces. Cooking is so much easier if you do the prep work before you go.

Go with the tried and true: If you are new to camp cooking, set yourself up for success by choosing camp meals and cooking techniques that you already use at home. You won’t be able to order Uber Eats out in the wilderness if your recipes don’t work out. Luckily, most of the meals we’re sharing with you are easy enough to try on your next camping trip!

Don’t forget your Scouting skills!  Learn about how to pack a cooler properly, how to wash dishes at a campsite, and how to use all your equipment fore you go.
